Just Dropped It

Got my bike out today for a blast. The roasting pan ding doesn't look quite as bad outside as it does with a flashlight in the garage staring at it. Glad we had a short break in the weather. Use the old gas, replace with new.

I haven't dropped it but very nearly did on the first couple of rides due to the limited turning circle. Once you get use to that its ok but warn mates if you're brave enough to swap bikes with them
Always being asked by mates for a go, so far I’ve told them to buy their own. Seriously, a good point, maybe a few swaps this year as I take it further afield. Assen for the BSB a likely time.

So I replaced the broken bits a few weeks ago, slipped on the ice and put back my recovery a little, finally felt that my body was healed enough for a ride. Lovely weather, a bit damp but some sun. Had a few doubts, did I miss something, was there something bent that I’d missed.
Anyway, quick check, nothing, she fired up instantly, still unsure whether the battery optimiser was enough. Doubtsfrom previous issues but new battery was fitted by Dealer before my operation and bike just really sat there from late November with a short run in January before I dropped it.
Took it out slowly, tried to listen for anything strange, felt fine, let it warm and then just opened it up and . As the song goes, I’m still smiling......

Once you are fully fit, we might be able to get together for that overdue cup of coffee on a 961 rideout

I know the feeling, bud. I hopped off of mine before I thought I would make contact with the guy who "almost missed his turn" so cut in front of me and stopped. I did 2 endos and decided to hop off. Pictured my jewels as a handlebar ornament. Long story short, got the bike fixed after about 6 months, hobbled over to it on a walker, slung my leg over it, fire her up and rode. Friends and neighbors, especially family, were quite pissed off at me, considering I couldn't walk yet. Go hardcore, brother!! Keeps ya young. Mend quickly.

Good to hear you and the bike are on the mend! Don't know about our Summer this year but Spring is looking good so hope to get my first run later this week to shake off the cobwebs (yes, there are REAL cobwebs on mine, seems the Norton bike cover is a good Winter habitat for our 8 legged friends lol)

Mm yes “ A 961 Rideout” ,just started thinking the same thing,I was thinking maybe second part of next month ,but as it’s still a touch parky(cold), I’ll ride a couple of hours 100 miles for a catch up, a Saturday / Sunday ,just deciding on an initial venue, the motorcycle accessory/clothing dealer “BIKESTOP”in Stevenage Hertfordshire is on my bucket list for a visit soon, great range of reasonably priced up to date gear

Getting a mix of snow and rain today, or else I'd join ya. Tomorrow 50F. If it's dry enough, I may go then. Still waiting for me flasher in the mail.
