Norton (Donington) Bike Nights dates announced

Hello Stratos , How did the trip to the IOM TT go ? Must have been a great time ! Any Norton News reports for us ?
Absolutely amazing two weeks, lovely island and very welcoming people. We had two weeks of riding every day, watching racing, hanging out with the riders, not to mention the odd beer or two in the evening. Norton were well represented with a trade stand, hospitality marque and of course the race team. John and Josh are both absolute superstars and after watching them out on the TT course I now have a better understanding of the sheer skill and bravery these guys have.
I can't wait until next year when I can take the V4RR for a blast over the mountain, that's if they ever build it.

Only two beers ? What can you mean If they ever build it ? Has there been any news ? Did you take the 961 over there ?

The problem with taking your V4 over there is that you’ll have no excuse for not doing a 130mph+ lap !!

Not a chance of that happening. We did have a few good blasts over the mountain, no speed limit and one way traffic is good fun but there are many people who don't make it to the Creg-Ne-Baa. You do get a few funny looks from bikers when you pass them at 140+ mph two up though.

I didn't take the 961 as I'm still running it in and the V4 delivery date has been pushed back just a few times.

Big thanks to all the Nortoneers and John McGuiness for making last nights Post TT bike night so enjoyable. Shout outs to MXMartin, regental and other 961ers, about 9 in total including 1 Dommi. There was also an SS and two used SG7s from this years campaign. Enjoy the pics.

It sure must be nice getting all those 961's together in one place . When I was at the IOM GP last August I saw 3 total. I was looking everywhere for them , oh well. Great photos and I am sure very memorable having your picture with John McGuiness ! I can see myself shaking hands with Josh Brookes every time I log in.

Stills are generally ok however, video has SOUND. Here is my attempt at sharing some videos of last nights bike meet at Donington plus John McGuinness playing with his SG7. Enjoy

Just a couple more pics, I was amazed at how quickly the venue packed out. All in all a really pleasant evening and in the good company of Alan, Stuart and Mrs SF2015.

Mr McG. Recognise that face under the Norton cap?!?

Mark, I notice your bike had the stock seat back on.

Why ?
My original seat pan split so I was back for a warranty exchange. I also had the fly screen changed as mine had a defect under the gel coat. I repurchased my original screen for a custom project :)

Time is flying and summer surely must be running out. Just purchased a new jacket from Norton Clothing (not sure if any involvement with the bikes). A lighter summer jacket in a larger size than my 20 year old Belstaff.

Any Norton BBQ's coming up? I would have gone to the Burnout but in a mens singles tennis final which I haven't won since 2000 so have to try my luck.

September is almost on us so maybe mid month, or does that clash with the ACE meet.

Next one sceduled is 30th August - best to check with Donington before venturing out - can't make that one myself

I'm going to try to squeeze in the 30/8 in case September turns out to be a wet one. Fingers crossed for an 'Indian Summer' but traditionally it rains as soon as schools are back.

Will the 30/8 night happen as Burnout is 1/2 of September?
Just asking - last free week before going back to work in the rain!
John

I have just been told by the guys at Norton that the 30/8 bike night is cancelled due to the Burnout
