Does anyone know the spacer dimensions for the rear mudguard bracket that attaches to the rear of the frame on a 1969 S model.
The bracket is the same shape as the guard where it bolts on to, not the bracket that attaches to the suspension bolts and is virtually a strap, David

The spacer is part of the swing arm. It's an upside down U shaped bracket welded to the top of the swing arm. If you want the width of that part, I can probably get it, but it's not critical, it's just there to hold the front of the chainguard on. Seems to me that there was also a spacer that went into a hole in the chainguard (about midway in the chainguard) that held the tube for the chain oiler. I removed all that stuff. I just stuck a bolt in it to fill the hole.

Oh, the mudguard, not the chainguard. Sorry. Actually there are 2 styles of mounting the rear mudguard to the body. One is like what L.A.B. linked to (06-1400), but some of the earlier ones had a strap between the upper shock mounts (where the seat knobs mount) that you mentioned. But I think the bracket that mounts to the rear frame web (behind the main tube) is the more likely. I've never seen another one with the strap like mine has. There must have been a different drilling in the mudguard for the holes for these 2 types of mounts. I got a rear mudguard second hand that had the sort of flat spot for that bracket and it didn't have the holes for my strap. I sold it to a guy in Belgium. My guard doesn't have that flat spot for the bracket. There is a hole for mounting the guard to one of the bolts that holds the horn on also.

There are no spacers listed in the 1969 spares list. Only seven washers 00-0011 for four mudguard bolts 06-0359.
You can use some longer bolts and put a nut between the rears cross section of the frame and the mudguard stay 06-1400.
I also used some black nylon washers between the stay and the mudguard.

Thanks lads for all the info' and links. Offered up the mudguard with the correct spacers and it fitted like a glove, even the 2 holes at the horn bracket aligned, great forum! David
