It will be spring b4 we know it,so any of u keen 961 er,s fancy a natter & catch then put this date in your diary SUNDAY 25TH MARCH , it’s the first day of British summer time so more daylight for the ride home, temps should be less bracing than atm.
Location to be decided, I never see any other 961,s on the the road, only ever see another one at the factory or the NEC, potential venues atm are “ bosworth tea rooms “ finchingfield ,Essex or “Ryka,s Cafe “ at Box Hill Surrey, open to suggestions of other places ,if interested guys reply on this thread & please mention where u live so we can think of a cunning plan of where to hook up, this request may fall flat at the first hurdle or we could progress to few meets accross the summer , I for one fancy at least one trip to a bar b q Wednesday night at the factory which they hold fortnightly during the summer.
This is also on Norton owners club forum ,had a few bites & whispers earlier today already ,so if everyone prepared to ride at least 75/100 Miles it could be a hit, many thanks a richard ( worldwide invite btw )

If I can get the bike run in and 1st service done by then then I would be up for it! Boston, Lincs (middle of nowhere but good for a 75mile trip to the factory).

and we are off to an enthusiastic start hoorah , yes Raphi half way could be Mumbai & wouldn’t that be a ride getting there, did look at that , but going thru Pakistan is the problem, if u research motorbike riding in Pakistan & is it safe for foreign bikers, it mentioned it wasn’t even safe there even for people that lived there ,don’t know if that still the case so may thru turkey & drop down thru Iran, when u read articles written by world travellers about there experiences these countries we are led to believe to dangerous turn out to be actually ok , so anyway I digress , Raphi I’m in “ Dun-sur-Meuse “ France in May at a great little Biker B& B called “ Two wheels Mooring “ that’s about half way from me to you, here’s the link for a peep http://www.bikersbedsfrance.co.uk/

Running the bike in is a bit of a chore as we all know, nothing much happens at them low rev,s , tricky to keep to low speed limits, but get on that A1(M) Road MxMartin keep it a 55mph & u will be at 425 miles b4 u know it, then 75 miles to factory, whilst waiting for service to be done walk down to the priest house hotel for lunch ,ride it home & release some more rev,s on that fast Lincolnshire road to your town .

I’ve not ridden in Pakistan, but I have ridden in India. I have never been so genuinely concerned for my safety in my life.

Never again!

Tell me, if you plan to come through Switzerland, Richard. We already had a little 961 meet with glb and two of his friends in the Ace Cafe Luzern. Would be more than cool to see you here!

Richard I also fancy a ride out to the factory bike night over summer. But I would probably stay over and make a night of it.

Hi Raphi Work and family have been such that I haven't been that far south for while but maybe I sort something out this summer

Staying over on a factory meet night and making a proper night of it (ie with alcohol and dancing girls and ...) sounds like a bloody good idea to me!

Ok, dump the dancing girls, they’ll detract from the bikes!

Sounds like a great time ! Wish I could join you . When we were there we stayed at the Donington Manor Hotel in downtown Castle Donington . The cost was very reasonable and had the whole place to ourselves.

I would love to meet up with you all, I am in south Devon and would like a trip to the factory ( got mine from Moto Corsa in wiltshire ) and make it an overnight stay. Am also open to the original idea.

I've stayed at the Donington Manor before as well £49 per night. Indian restaurant opposite and a quiet bar inside. Lots of parking in a small courtyard.

I have put March 25th in the diary but cannot confirm till closer to time. Factory Bbq on some good weather nights for sure, definitely and may have a night stop over too
