Had a great time camping in Lot B. Hobbled around in a walking boot and used the Spree as a powered wheelchair. Dude on the tram asked me how I could ride with that thing on my left foot and I told him, "It shifts on the right, or it doesn't shift at all" Too bad about the early cancellation. Sunday was going to be the day I checked out the new addition to the museum.
The new addition isn't fully populated yet, at least that's my impression. Custom bikes, go carts and drag bikes were what I noticed.

I was hoping to see the Alan Milyard 2600 cc kawasaki V-12. It was in the storage room last year and I couldn't get close to it.

I saw his Kawa V8 there, and a V12 Lambo bike in the parking lot. There's always good stuff to see at Barber.

Great to see many Access Norton folks at Barber. We often get down under our canopies and don't get to smell the roses, but this year I made a point to get out and say hello. Matt and the CNW crew were in great form. Comnoz and his brother changed Jim's front tire under our canopy using a floor jack and sidestand to support his bike - fun to watch. Swoosh came by early on and shot the breeze. Lots of other faces - several with Access Norton t-shirts (I rocked mine on Friday). There were more Commandos just riding around the paddock and outside the track than I remember in years past. Lots of really beautiful bikes.

Our boy John Magyar, aka "Dances", kicked some serious butt in the BEARS race. As the bikes came around to complete the first lap I was so damn happy - he was first overall and had a 6 second lead on 2nd place! His lead went up to 9 seconds overall during the race, but a certain Triumph wanted to catch him and reeled him in a bit, but it was not to be for the Triumph - Dances got the checker quite easily; flag-to-flag. Seeley Commando for the win!

Sadly, the impending hurricane put a damper on the whole event, not just the racing. Word has it Mr. Barber said the gates would be closed on Sunday for spectators (other than the Museum), but AHRMA could run on Sunday if they wanted. AHRMA made the right choice to call it and we packed up Saturday night and made our way home. It was a good call, because the storm hit Saturday night and no-one in their right mind would've gone out on that track Sunday. Then again, we don't always have "right minds", do we?

Now back to work, building Commandos to be ready for spring!

See you all in 2018

Pretty sure I saw the V-12 this year, it was by the V-8. I don't think I took a picture.

This one was in the swap meet area and it was a head scratcher. We still can't figure out what combination was used to make this engine. Count the exhaust carefully... then count it again.

Here I am shooting the shit with Matt. I'm trying to talk him into making his LED tail light flash. :)

Pretty sure I saw the V12 there, they had 2 Millyard bikes on display.

It's always interesting to see how Milyard makes his creations work. I know he likes to leave them otherwise stock-looking so as to add to the jaw-drop and eye-rub factor. I saw the purple 7-cylinder also and it looked like a flashback complete with double vision. The V-12 I saw last year was very factory-looking. I bet it would be a hoot to ride cross country. We have 3 good bike museums around here and I have been to Wheels Through Time, Seaba and Anamosa. Put them all together and they wouldn't even make a wing at Barber.

I walked by one of his 4 cylinder Kawasakis for days last year at the Classic TT before I noticed the extra cylinder. His Flying MIllyard is a supersized version of a 1920's V twin.

Wheels through Time is no small museum. There are many bikes there that would fit right in at Barber. More than a few.

That's the one. So outlandish. Somebody dragrace one against the billet V&H Harleys. jk

No slight against Dale Walksler's gallery. And Mr. Barber doesn't go around starting everything in the place for 30 people at a time, either. The Traub alone was worth the price of admission.

Thanks for the great photos. Would love to make it back over to the US for a motorcycle focused trip and take in some events such as this and/or some rallies. Last time, the focus was just on seeing what the rest of the world had to offer.

There would be no better place than the Barber Vintage Festival.
