Cannot decide if Norton should have contrasting or blending colors on wires and fuel lines. Big decision was to remain with a black tank as I like Candy Red. My bike will be black, with gold metal flake under the clearcoat, I have choices of Purple or Red Plug wires, and Blue or Red Gas lines. Also, should the Plug wires be routed along side of the top engine mount ?

I believe in what Henry Ford said, “Paint it any color, as long as its black.”

Whatever pleases "YOUR" eyes!
Ride without the need for affirmation from others. Biking is about independance, self expression and enjoyment!
Get pics of all.... place them around your bed when you go to sleep and when you wake in the morning with a fresh mind and clear head, your eyes will naturally fall onto the correct color choice!

Roadster - Candy Red
Interstate - Black and Gold
Fastback - British Racing Green

All oil lines, ignition should be black.

" As long as it is Black", just as I prefer my fishing lures! I believe in blending colors and hiding lines as much as possible to keep a clean apperance. Instead of short Plug wires outside, as OEM wrap them around and along the frame under the tank.

BRG tank & tins with a gray frame and blue plug wires and clear fuel lines

It's your bike so paint it any colour you like mate. You can always change it any time later on.

There's a book with title "All Corvettes Are Red, others are mistakes". same for Commando roadsters :)

Totally agree, although my preferance color was Candy Red, 99% of Commando's are black, so I left mine. but added some gold flake.

Candy red for 850, signal red for 750.

Silver is good on a single.

Your color preferances?

Strip it and repaint it Candy Red. If its a '74, silver decals are OK, but anything else should be gold. Plug wires black so as not to detract from that Candy tank.

Silver is a great color for any pre-Commando, especially singles.
