I'm preparing for my build...

The magnifying glass is to carefully mark where you whack it with the sledgehammer.

All thread and flat washers, lol
Sad thing is that guy holding the all thread with thick washers and nuts tool is actually a high quality fabricator. In this day and age of price gouging it's selling for probably close to what it would cost to make one. Unfortunately the tool is useless if the bearings are not press fit sealed bearings. It would be in the way with cups and loose ball bearings.

...and WHAT bike(s) used a sealed bearing (besides a Commando and a K-Mart mini-bike)?

My co-worker (we repair precision CNC machinery) loves to carry in the 20lb. sledge and watch the customer look scared....🫣
A bit off topic. Is the machinery business like yours and businesses using CNC machinery improving/increasing with the higher cost of importing foreign made products?

Heck if I know.

I wasn't aware that K-mart sold mini bikes. :)

Edit: My bad the bearings don't need to be sealed, just press fit.

We're busy.
Japanese & Taiwanese machinery.
The US made stuff is not as high precision as what we sell.
I have been to the Cincinnati Machinery "city".
A reminder of the golden years.

Good enough for me!

Maybe that’s why a bike is called a build when all they’ve done is throw the chainguard away and put the number plate behind the rider’s leg.

I don’t use the word “build” as a noun, but I’m old.
I changed the grips, installed bar-end mirrors, and swapped the bulbs for LEDs, THAT'S A BUILD! Three COMPLETELY DIFFERENT processes involved! Plus, I FIRST had to pick from 67 different available grips, 113 different bar-end mirrors, and 17 different LED types, with and without replacement lenses (which were over 30 different varieties). That was WELL OVER 23 minutes on Amazon, and ANOTHER 16 minutes on e-bay!

If THAT'S not a build, I don't know WHAT is!

It's called a "build" for the same reason that adding a modern component is always referred to as an "upgrade," even if it downgrades the OEM's actual performance. "I UPGRADED the voltage regulator," sounds way better than, "I replaced the voltage regulator," especially if that info is in a for-sale ad! ;)

Same with:
"I completed a frame-up build last week!!!!"
vs
"I finished putting the bike back together last week."
