Which 961?

JPN blue for me.
Which 961?

As far as the cool black look goes, I remember a video that Garner made very early on in which he was riding a prototype 961 that was a CR with all black body work, wheels, headers/silencers, and engine covers. It looked badass. I can't find the video anywhere, but it was way cool. It had a different designation code like SM or SB. Damn, which I could find that video.

Looks like it.
The primary cover was black also.
Looked pretty bitchin' in the sunlight.
I guess if they blacked out the engine too, they could call it the "Shadow."

If it's a new 77 model where would you start to fix the many inherent problems with design and every rubber washer, oil seal etc etc ??

With a black carbon front mudguard and flyscreen, the black looks better than the silver imo. Both the black and the silver options should really have a colour matched flyscreen at the least.

Nicknamed The Panther, this was a company pet right until near the final few weeks where it was sold. It was the same bike that Michael Dunlop rode around the IoM. I also rode it around the IoM a few years later in 2016.
Nice preproduction engine cases, machined from billet. There was only a few sets of those, I fitted one set to Skinners Domiracer #50....they polished up absolutely amazing compared to the production engine cases/covers.

Talking black wheels v polished wheels ref the aesthetic of the bike. Performance wise, I wonder if BST would now be interested in modifying their carbon wheels for ABS 961’s, past and present? Whole lot more of them around now.

Single greatest performance mod for these bikes! They Look pretty good too, as long as yer not completely hung up on the vintage appearance - then it’s gotta be polished I suppose.

Ignore people like Al…

Silver ones DEFINITELY have their place…

How else are we to encourage more lady, and other non binary / non male, riders ??
In scotland the government Fu*kits (snp) have just given a list of genders they recognise. 24 of them. Grief !!!! Possibly all who could ride a norton ?
