I don't know if anyone else finds it peeving but the new floating advertisement to login or register seems a blight on an otherwise great forum.
It probably doesn't bother the guys who login and post every time they visit but many (most?) of the users visit the forum regularly, take a read for something new or interesting, and only go through the login stuff when they have something to contribute.
It seems to benefit no-one and annoy a likely majority of casual users. As a possible downside, once you've logged in you might as well post, so the quality of posts can easily suffer, to the benefit to no-one.
Maybe it's just me, in which case I apologize, but if it isn't maybe others can chime in and request that it be dropped.
