Yep, I'd say you're right. I've never has a RE primary open. Amazing how similar to Commando the design is.

Yes, I was impressed with some of the similarities when I had my RE Bullet. The Enfield gearbox bolts up to the back of the crankcases so you adjust chain tension with a tensioner inside the chaincase rather than by moving the gearbox. There is a seal carrier for the gearbox output shaft but it does not slide as on a (pre-Mk3) Commando chaincase because the gearbox position is fixed. It attaches to the chaincase with four screws. You can see the screwholes in that photo.

Oh if you ever think the Commando gearbox falls short, just get
your hands on the Interceptor!
It is a wonderment of frightening design, dogcrap steel and dull
tools. It was over stretched on a Bullet 500, think when applied to
the mighty 750 twin.
Mine once sat on its center stand idling, put itself into gear,
jumped up, snapped the mainshaft, stalled and fell over.
Ill gleefully swap Enfield gearbox stories. Just ask!

I contacted him and he was of the same opinion. He just wasn't sure. He's changed the auction to RE.

Yeah, I looked at the listing and he'd already changed the title and posted your question.

Certainly does look like an Enfield inner primary cover, although I don't know how anyone could tell the difference between an Interceptor 750 cover and a Bullet cover. Looks just like the one from my Bullet (to my untrained eye).

Not entirely sure there is a differance. I have an AVL Bullet and still it looks like that.
