What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

I'm just going to say after 82 pages this whole thing sucks butt.... 🤣 I don't think anyone has changed their side or opinion!! But the thread is so popular even the commando side is coming over to post!

I can't go to Ducati and buy a MotoGP bike but they have Superbikes for sale.
They (Ducati) had a model about ten to fifteen years ago that was a take off from a motogp bike for the road that cost about $80,000. Honda also had one of those bikes for the road with option to make it a race bike. And bmw just a few years ago ha a crotch rock (not street leagal ) for sale at dealer with a carbon frame for about $100,000.

I’m in a state like Nortriduc, I own a 2013 commando cr with less than 1000 km (sorry miles) on the odometer, that I can’t get part from norton or a dealer. But I can get parts for my Ducatis

EXACTLY!
I don’t care if TVS Norton has a dealer in my back yard. I won’t buy another Norton.
They made it impossible to get parts.

The best indication yet of where Norton are aiming the Atlas to generate volume. The fact we don’t like the styling is another indicator.

Going back to Gladrags statement that ‘luxury doesn’t have to be expensive’.

Say it again, y'all

It is fun watching the bickering here! Might be, will be, could be, won't be, wish it were, hope it is, will they, won't they, why don't they, ad Infinium!

Really? If I look at that biggest silver thing I cannot see any evidence of doing less.
I wonder what planet/drug he's on?
It's moved Norton from something different with the 961 (not that I'd buy one) to being just like the rest - in my view anyway.
Cheers
The 961 was’nt ‘something different’ - for Norton - it was/is entirely representative of the vintage Norton aesthetic.

My guess, eventually we’ll realise that Norton would never succeed providing classic fare alone. As the saying goes, ‘modernise or die’.

Agreed - they've left whatever vestige of "soul" that existed behind - now they're "just another brand"

When I was over there working for my cousin, who emigrated at an early age from Bolton to OZ he never took the oath to become a Ozzie. He always told everyone that he would take the oath on his death bed as it was better a dead Aussie than a dead POM , just to wind them up.😄
