What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

Way better in black.
The Front of the MANX fairing holds up the intake "horns". A little camouflage to disguise what Norton did originally on the V4CR. Not attractive at all. Also the droopy eye headlight structure all nakeds use - not loving it.

Fixed!

Didn't Norton hire Brian Gillen from MV?
He was responsible for the superveloce-1000.
Now that's a masterpiece.

The vast majority of the press from EICMA has been extremely positive, whether we guys of a certain age (with an understandable traditional bias) like the modern styling or not. Some really decent road tests are a must now of course. Hopefully they’ll be some real world tests, not just of the inevitable number counting track biased type..

They’ll have a timeframe for releasing pricing and production details no doubt - unlikely to align with our expectations;). Not sure you ‘Muricans’ will see the ManxR in First Edition trim; read somewhere that many have been sold in advance (price unseen) to ‘celebrities and those of HNW (High Net Worth). Not a term I’ve heard before!

Norton has stated that the Manx R will be priced around the same as the Penegale. Don’t see that being possible in First Edition trim. Think the standard trim variant might be on its way, maybe with the other ‘fruit’ as optional extras.

Either way I’m interested, if it ever makes it down under. I’d need to look at the ergonomics though. Does built for real world use (by way of performance), mean more suitable road based ergos?

I think there isn't much that Norton can do ergonomically speaking for the Manx R. Sport Bike ergos are what they are. They kind of fixed the design when they introduced the Manx and Manx R. They are saying the superbike is the R model with all the trick bits. I suppose that they can introduce an "S" model like Ducati with ABS plastic parts in place of the R's Carbon parts, alloy wheels in place of the carbon ones, lower spec suspension, etc... But would that make the regular Manx higher spec than the "S". You see the fix that Norton would have themselves in.

On the other hand, Norton could introduce a lower spec standard naked Manx model. With cheaper parts, better ergos, maybe targeting the hooligan community with styling a bit more Tuono, or Monster. I know a geezer or two who might be interested in something like that. They could call it the Razorback, or the Scorpion, or (the name of some other offensive creature here.):p

The reference to the Penegale pricing is a difficult one. What are they referring to, V4S or V4R - big cost difference!

As discussed, might there be a Manx R and Manx S (Rs). Same for the naked Manx? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Love the sleek uncluttered lines of the Manx R, I think it's a fabulous looking machine (it's a pity my sportsbike days are over). Not so sure about the other models though and I was looking forward to seeing them in the flesh before long. Unfortunately I've been told that my local dealer (Teasdales) is dropping the marque from next February, which is a bit of a blow to me and some others on this forum no doubt.

That’s not a warranty to brag about. I agree with Bob.
Who’s actually going to lay down a ton of miles in that 3 year span? Nearly nobody.
I think they should have matched MV’s warranty.

Let’s hear the prices, surely they know the numbers. Why more delayed secrets?

I tell you what I think the worst part of this new Norton launch is, the effin’ blanket marketing. Everywhere I go, every website pop up ad and YouTube ads galore, all dull ‘n’ grey; enough already 🤬 🤣 🤣 🤣
