What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

SF model, better known as a Hooligan, sounds good if true.
Just have to see how many banks you would have to rob in order to buy one.
And of course, not available in the US, so bollocks.

I’m curious what everyone is hoping or expecting with the new line up?
What will be a win or disappointment in your opinion?

A better, competitive, V4 as I outlined previously.
Other than that, I think the rest will be small displacement stuff like 350/400/450 , maybe a 600.
We know Norton will use a TVS motor in at least some of their offerings, not sure if TVS have a 600 though.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Oh yeah, ONLY 60 MORE DAYS TO EICMA!!!!😄

That's what I'm thinking, so how many copies of a copy does the market need?
I see what you’re saying. There already is a Aprilia 457 , Kaw 500 , Honda 500 etc. I thought they would have gone up to 750 cc at least . Unless they think their bike will be so much better kinda like the Aprilia 660 is in its class ? Where the average 650 twin is 70hp , Aprilia is 95hp. Does that make any sense ? Probably not !

I hope I am wrong. But I think I am going to be disappointed.
No need to be disappointed really.
Norton is in a building phase, as such, they won't be able to have offerings for everyone right now.
I'm just hoping that what they introduce has a quality about it that previous models like the 961 lacked.
That will signal that Norton really is back.
There probably will not be a Commando model, but I'm sure that the Commando isn't dead.
It's too cool of a model concept for Norton to ignore for very long.
But we probably will have to wait a few years for that model to return - that is if Norton survives.

The problem is there is just too much of too much....too many brands fighting for what little there is of a customer base... I think the Triumph comeback was well timed, but now just so many others with more to come.

To the world, the name "Norton" means nothing, and that's a big problem. What's really funny is I see the Norton name more on sandpaper boxes in shops in the USA than anything, and if anything, more people associate the name with Norton Software.

Yeah, for sure, Norton's name recognition in the US is virtually nil with younger riders.
In Britain it's probably a different story though. If they can put out a reasonable product, national pride can help make it a success.
But it has to be a sound product. No excuses.

I see Norton as a small producer at least initially. This means that they will not expect large volume sales at first. So, as long as they can grab a foot hold in at least one segment of the MC market, I think TVS will see that as enough to allow Norton to press forward for a while.
Norton will need time, and solid machines with a company reputation customers can count on.
Something Donington customers never had.

The curtain is about to rise on the continuing saga of Norton Motorcycles, lets hope the new crew over there have their act together.

I got my fingers crossed here on this side of the pond.

The V4 looks to be a good looking, fairly standard superbike, not too different from those from Ducati and the big 4. Which is fine, anything too far from the norm won't sell. Like Triumph with their Triples, Norton have chosen not to compete with the current crop of superbikes, as at 1200cc it will be inegilible for WSB, the TT etc. Which is smart, as a new company they don't want to get into an arms race with the competition. However, IMO the bigger engine will make a better road bike.

While all the attention is on the new V4 superbike, Norton have stated they will be launching 6 models on three 'platforms'. We haven't seen anything about those bikes yet.
November 4th will be interesting.

Soon, the only Norton fan will be Stephen Spencer. He’s their biggest spokesman.
Biggest spokesman? No. Enthusiast, realist, optimist? Certainly.

Just never had much time for meaningless negativity - especially in the absence of situational information - particularly in relation to a marque that still has a great deal of meaning to a great number of people.

You know, given this is an ‘enthusiasts’ forum!🤣

Who’s Norton?
Ask the young man.

Not gonna be ‘the young man’ that buys their premium bikes NDT, for obvious reasons. The marque will likely be important to many that do.

‘The young man’ will respond to other bikes in the lineup (hopefully), if they’re great products at the right price. Less about brand recognition for them.
