I've been having endless problems on my rocket 3 with the pilot jets blocking up
I'm running 28 mm mikunis
Not that it makes a difference but they do seem prone to blocking
The petrol tank is aluminium and clean inside,so I can only conclude the black shit is coming from the fuel hose
The hose I'm using is supposed to be ethanol proof if that actually means anything!!
This is out of just one float bowl

Baz, I’ve become a big fan of Motion Pro clear hose. I always used to use black, but nowadays I like clear coz you can see if there’s any shit in there and you can see if / when the hose starts to go ‘off’.

It’s its thin wall, so easy to route and super flexible, so it anvoids incurring stress also super resistant to kinks (oerr Mrs!)

Of course, it ain’t cheap, but realistically you don’t use much per bike.

Japanese carbs are VERY sensitive to even the finest debris in the system in my experience, flooding and blocking on stuff that Amal’s wouldn’t even notice !

Looks good to me 👍

Hello,

I know its generally frowned upon by some. And it goes hard. And it goes yellow. And may not be totally ethanol proof.

But I am still using (as I always did) the clear reinforced PVC hose.

And when you have to remove it/ the carb/ the tap/ the filter, I just get a new piece. Doesnt leak, doesnt go soft, doesnt gum up the carb.

It does go rock hard and forms to a shape (and yu may need to cut it off) if you are fortunate enough not to have to touch it for a year or so!!

Cheers
