What is this vertical Allen screw doing?

T120R motor. I’ve not seen one there before

Whatever the idea was, I bet it was a bad one.

Add on...with scarring around it...so now you have to pull the cover to find the reason its there.

The only thing I can think of is a breather mod, since blanked off, praps coz it didn’t work as it seems to small to be of any value in that regard.

As it’s doing its own impression of the Exxon Valdez I think a strip and rebuild may well be a worthwhile job.
For now it’s sat in the middle of the garage while I ponder taking the T160 off the ramp and swopping them over.
For now it’s all in one piece but probably only 85% complete at best, and it needs a double dose of looking at to help me decide what I actually want to do with it. If I stick it on the ramp I’m likely to start twiddling spanners.
As I’m going away for a couple of months in the new motorhome I think I may do some research on what I want to do to it on my return. This time a proper winter overhaul.
