What is MkIIA on this bike?

Can anyone point out an actual MkIIa-specific part on this bike? (perhaps the swingarm spindle)

Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice cafe bike, I just think the seller ought to point out that the pre-'72 750 motor means that the engine number does not match the frame number, which I assume is a '74 850 frame that matches the title. This might be a problem for some out of state buyers.

I noted that to the seller, this is his reply
"Thank you. I did not try to hide that fact but just got sidetracked from all the other info I entered.
The bike is a late '74 and titled as such, with the beefed gusseted swingarm etc. The transmission is the original to the bike, but I will check it out once I get back to take the info off the bike. I was told the Motor is a '71 but I will check that info agaist the numbers again NO MALICE INTENDED...The bike is posted as what the title says regardless of engine year or design but I appreciate your imput and concern."

Well there are certainly SOME parts on that bike that would have been on a MkIIa!

I don't see anything MkIIa on this. Maybe the center stand. Would need a black plastic air box and bean can mufflers to convince me.

yes its a nice bike, but Ron was merely pointing out that its advertised as a MKlla and clearly it isnt, even though the owner says its titleted as a later model. itsa bitsa,

Yes, I agree that the builder did a very nice job and built an outstanding cafe racer. My intent was to warn any list members that might be looking at this that, depending on your state, you may have issues with a DMV inspection if the engine number does not match the title. That's an important point that anyone selling a bike like that should point out when potential buyers are out of state.

Ron's question was only do you see anything on this bike that's MkIIa. The correct answer is not much if anything, don't you agree. Nothing was asked about like it or not.

I think my bike is as much a MK2a as that one. I agree that it is a beautiful bike and I really really like it. BUT, love it for what it is, not for what it isn't.

If it were mine I am sure i would love it, after all, I sure love mine.
