This coming fall there are or were going to be some great events such as the NTNOA Lake of the Pines rally, Barbers Vintage events, the SCNO Best British Bike ride by a Dam Site. All great events in my book but I'm wondering if they will be held because of this cover-19 mess. Anyone have information on these and other events?

Well Barber (or Zoom Productions really) sold tickets for the Vintage Festival. In fact the motorhome spaces sold out in 15 minutes. There was no Ace Cafe upgrade so just guessing they are out for this year. I also fly out for the Hansen Dam ride as I lived in Southern California until '06 and was / am a member of SCNOC . My guess is that will happen whether it's sanctioned or not. People will show up and ride the loop anyway. If things are still the way they are now, I doubt I will fly out. But if I still lived there I would ride that Sunday.

At this time, the SoCal Norton Owners Club has suspended all rides until further notice. I'm hoping that will change in time for the Hansen Dam ride. It's one of my favorites.

I first wanted to go the NTNOA Lake of the Pines Rally back in 2004; still never made it over there, but at least I'm 250 miles closer!

I went to Hanson Dam in 2010. At the time I lived in Phoenix and it was on my bucket list. Great ride good time.
LOP I have been there several times always fun camping out and catching up with old friends. A lot of new people have been coming who see it as a place to party well into the early morning hours, bring their pets and do burn outs leaving a haze of burnt rubber over the camp ground.
Never been to Barbers for the Vintage Festival. Looks to be to crowded for my taste. Others love it.
This years Wester Slope Norton owners get together in Dolores was canceled. The AMCA show and swap meet in Fredericksburg was canceled. Not sure about the Harvest Classic in Luckinbach or the Distinguished Gentleman's rides all over the world?

Very strange times we are living through right now , I suspect in years to come those of us still around will look back on 2020 as a year that was non-existent ..... the ride calendar in my shed is mostly blank for past few months and not much filled in for rest of season either , sitting wasting good ride weather is no fun .... bikes are clean is one positive ..... better days ahead, eh ...

Well here in Texas we can still go out for a ride without big brother telling us not to and the threat of a fine for the sin of living and enjoying our lives.

Most restrictions have been eased here as well , although borders still closed to outsiders , other than citizens of the other 3 Atlantic Provinces .... yup I been able to ride for most of season , however there are rules to be prepared for , say if you want to stop for lunch , get a coffee , etc. ..... still strange times not interested in bumping into strangers , folks in cars from out of area are being shamed by people that are famously friendly , that kind of thing ..... the bike shed calendar reflects organized rides, get together , coffee meets , and most of these things remain hit or miss , I’m not always religious with filling in my on solo rides , just do it , not really an event worth marking down ... but definitely not as often as most years ...

I think BigBrother here has done excellent job in keeping our Atlantic Provinces mostly free of the covid , early on things were much more restricted than they are now , here in Nova Scotia we lost just short of 70 folks to the virus most of that number (sadly) in one elder care home in our one city , I value my freedom very much !!! , my health more in focus at this stage of my life , so applaud my Gov ( BigBrother) on a job well done ( they even sent my wife and I $500 each for surviving ,maybe, hah!a!) , not much group action yet as most individuals choose to do solo rides over group type and I get that , all that being said ,a bunch ,20+ local Duc Club members are heading to New Brunswick to ride a newly opened Bay of Fundy coastal route one night sleep over should be great time ..... the new route is supposed to compare well with the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island in my home Province , we will see ..... enjoy your rides in Texas it a truly great/beautiful State !!!! Our Club motto for this season is “ getting together , six feet apart“ and that is fine by me .....

To damn hot to do much riding right now. Looking forward to events in October such as Lake of the Pines, the Harvest Classic and the swap meet at Seaba Station. So far none of these have been canceled and I hope they aren't. I check about once a week to make sure.
What's going on in your neck of the woods?

I checked the Distinguished Gentleman's ride. They are on but instead of big rides in major cities there will be smaller rides of 1 or 2 people locally. Check out their website for a better explanation.

Got back late Sunday from our local Duke club “ride in AGM” in Sussex NB , guess there were 2 dozen riders .... most of us from NS .... good rides , good food etc. , sadly like your location uncomfortably hot riding , oh well , think I traveled 720kms point A to B .... good excuse to take off for a long wknd ....myself and a buddy rode up along NS and NB north shore and that always a nice ride

Lake of the Pines Rally is off.

Word just came out that Barbers has been canceled.

Well you add to this coved-19 mess with what's going on in various cities around the US and I wonder if there will ever be another INOA rally? I don't have any interest in going to the Pacific NW or NY state but that is just me and it will be months before there will be any events such as these again. I could go political but that won't do any good. I hope everyone is safe and sound.

I think as soon as there's a widely-available vaccine and all the science-deniers have either gotten over Covid or died, things will return to normal and all the formerly-scheduled events will return.

What could possibly go wrong with a rushed to market vaccine?
Things improve with a lot of R&D and not just in the motorcycle/motorcycle industry.
A one size fits all approach may help some and may hurt others.
Just saying.

I never liked motorcycle meetings, so I don't care if they are canceled.
Except for one:
The Stella Alpina rally, 2nd Sunday of July, Italy.
A ride up to col de Sommellier.
It is a very informal event. No registration, just show up and ride up the mountain.
I don't even stay at the base camp, but start out from Bardonecchia.
Now hijacked by offroaders, but initially intended for ROAD bikes.
It is a great test for rider and machine.
I have done it twice with my Commando, and this year intended to take my N15, but the rally was canceled.

Wow, that looks an amazing but scary event. Did you see the guys at around 1:57 narrowly avoid going off the edge?
