What’s the best none Norton Norton ?

Brought this home from the Triumph dealer yesterday. I originally ordered this last October or so then ended up canceling because I decided to get the 2020 Ducati Diavel 1260S instead.
When I canceled my order on the bobber that put the next guy in line for it.
Well, the other day I was snooping around on the Triumph dealers website and I ran across the Bobber I ordered, the guy that was gonna get it after I backed out declined it as well because he Went with the Rocket 3 instead. I called the dealer and was told the prior day triumph found another buyer but my dealer gave me first choice so I took it.
It’s actually comfortable and runs very strong.

Hello Voodoo , Nice Bike. Is there a rear suspension ? I can see a shock I think .

Yeah. It has a swing arm. Full Ohlin suspension and Brembo M50 calipers. Kinda over kill on a bobber as it has the same brakes that are on my Ducati. Small gas tank though, but the range is supposed to be 115-120 miles per tank at 2.4 gallons. ( per other real world riders on the bobber forums)

The TFC models have more hp and tq over the standard bobbers with full Ohlin suspension, brembo brakes like I mentioned and higher detail.

9 more hp over the standard bobber at 86 hp.
3 more ft lbs of torque at 81 tq over the standard bobber.

This higher performance engine benefits from significant improvements including lighter weight low inertia crankshaft, clutch, balance shafts, dead-shafts, rare-earth alternator, magnesium cam cover, thin-walled engine covers, and header pipes. With a higher compression ratio to 11:1 from 10:1, the new Bobber TFC also delivers a 39% reduction in bottom end inertia that helps the engine rev up even faster.

Just watched the Motobob video on the Bobber TFC. That looks beautiful, love the detail/ quality and that Arrow exhaust looks ‘the business‘! 750 made worldwide. I suspect it may be a tad uncomfortable for any real distance, which sort of fits in with the short fuel range. loadsa power though, should be awesome fun. I’ve got a small gap in my garage, wonder if the wife would notice if I slipped one in there (pardon the expression!)

I put 90 miles on it yesterday, I’m 6’ 180 pounds and it was comfortable. The seat and suspension are adjustable, which I will adjust both because the way it left the dealer I feel like the seat needs to be adjusted rearward a bit. I have a 34” inseam and although I felt fine, I’d like to see if moving the seat back will make it even better.
As far as the suspension goes, the rear feels a touch on the soft setting for me. I don’t want it to stiff because the roads here in Michigan USA are shit, but I’d like to experiment with the adjustments to see.
I love the low center of gravity and that the weight is all down low, the low seat height is great, it’s very well balanced and handles very nicely. Better than I imagined. I was quite surprised on how well it does everything as a whole.
If I had to make one complaint or change, I wish the headlight was bigger in diameter. Not because it’s not bright (it’s very bright as it’s all LED lighting) but I would prefer a larger 7” light because of the looks.
No regrets at all. I love it. If you like it, go check one out.

Sounds awesome Scott, but if I purchased one of those I suspect that I would end up receiving a home made castration, administered in the dead of night by she of higher authority. I quite like my balls where they are rather than dangling on a key chain.

Enjoy!

Despite being a cafe racer fan I really like the Triumph line-up - the Bobber is fantastic and for a cruiser even has brakes that work! Also the Speedmaster is a really nice bike. And the Rocket has suddenly transmogrified from a bit of a freaky joke bike to a very individual muscle bike which delivers handling and performance. I visited the factory recently and although I thought they had 'sold out' when they started manufacturing abroad the plants look impressive and I admire what this British bike manufacturer has achieved in products and reputation.

I almost bought the Rocket 3. My turn away was the hefty weight. At 800 pounds it’s just to much weight. Instead I went with the better handling, better braking, faster Ducati Diavel 1260S
Can’t knock the rocket 3. It looks and sounds great. Just don’t want the extra weight that comes with it.

Scott, that Triumph Bobber is really cool looking - never seen one before. Not sure I could ride a feet-forward bike as I tend to steer with my feet, but it's definitely better looking than the Indian Bobber I've seen. Congrats! MBS (multiple bike syndrome) is really hitting you hard isn't it?! LOL

Never heard of MBS, interesting! Could I get away with claiming this uncontrollable bike addiction as an actual recognised medical syndrome!? Got to be worth a go ;)

I wouldn’t call it forward controls per say, but it’s ever so slightly more forward than the commando and definitely more than the Domi, but equal to the foot location of my Diavel.
No way I’ll ever do forward controls.

When the Indian Bobber came out I looked at one at the IMS show, no thanks.
I didn’t care for it at all.
And to be honest I had my doubts of the triumph bobber as well. That’s one of the reasons why I backed out of the sale when I originally ordered it last year, I couldn’t see myself on a bobber. But once I seen the TFC in the flesh I fell in love with its finish and style.

The Ducati fits the 2 up seating need, the bobber fits the “I’ll be right back I’m going to the store run” and the Norton’s fit the everything in between needs lol.

I still keep eyeing the New V4 Streetfighter but I need to settle down I’m running out of room.

Found some seating positions of the bikes I have.
perhaps the controls are more different than I thought.

Scott, the relevant point of that photo is not the seating position... it’s the SUPERCHARGER...,

Why hasn’t yours got a Supercharger fitted yet ??

Oh no we've set Nigel off on his supercharger fetish again!!! (Although have to admit certain tendencies myself)

To return to non-Norton alternative bikes how about another revitalised brand Horex;

Nice, i do like the 1260s, was looking at the streetfighter on the ducati website and then saw this. A little less hooliganish looking. Watched a few online reviews and I may well be tempted sometime. So the 1260s, the V4s streetfighter or the KTM 1290 r.

That is unless Norton come out with something tasty

Lol. Good idea.
I did see a video of a Thruxton and bobber both fitted with superchargers.

those are all excellent choices you can’t go wrong with. I too like the Super Duke

Yes, a great looking machine. But if I had that sort of money I'd be looking at another heavy bike - the Hesketh Valiant SC - truly fabulous (and supercharged!)

I want this machine so badly I've actually considered releasing equity on my house to buy it! Only the weight of it is off putting for me.
