What’s the best none Norton Norton ?

The bottom end on this engine oils like a 4 stroke . Oil is pumped into the bearings down there.
Yeah but it still smokes like a 2 stroke.
And with todays noise regulations I’m surprised it’s available.

Yea , She's smokey ! I am giving the Harley 1250 a good long look . Hopefully the next chassis will be to my liking.

Such as a cruiser?
I have to admit I am attracted to the M8 in some form. But I can’t just buy everything I see . I want a larger fuel tank , I want the belt drive , I want some brakes , and more suspension than the 1250s. If they made a Pan Am street , belt drive , lower seating - take away active suspension, I don’t need it. I like that power plant is what I am saying.

Your thoughts on the sportster s?

I liked my 1979 iron head back in 1984/5 ? but not enough to keep it.

If I bought a Harley Davidson (If that is the topic) it would be a Road King (or CVO Street Glide with added decent suspension) for longer distance riding but will stick with my Africa Twin DCT and 1973 Eldorado.
The older Sportsters look like a decent 100 mile radius bike, the new (while the line lasts) seem to have lost the point of why they were called Sportsters.

I beg to differ with you on this topic . Not exactly a fair comparison I have an XR1200. With a Givi A24 windshield and the Hepco bags , the only thing is fuel tank size 3.5 USG . This thing eats up the miles with ease and relative comfort .

I sold my XR1200 this past Spring. Loved it - very Norton like - but too heavy for me when not underway.

I like it , and I think it is a great upgrade from the air cooled 48 . This bike and power plant have a lot of potential.
I'm not a fan of the low/long look for the Sportster S.. or the forward controls and seating position.
The motor sounds like it has punch with 120HP, and street weight of 505lbs. better numbers than the classic Sportster for sure.
I was disappointed when Harley dropped the Streetfighter from their 2021 lineup, it used the same motor but was more of a sportier design.
That was one I was waiting to test ride.
Seems when I like a product design, it's the kiss of death for that product.

Just give it a bit more time it is coming .

Why not look at the Indian FTR 1200 than
