Anyone want an new engine? Some work required. Pouring molten aluminum and all. Maybe a little machining.

But heavily re-enforced cases for both the engine and gearbox.

I would be interested, having some foundry friends, but no funds to do it. Jim would be the man.

Wow, that is amazing. I am not really familliar with the VR880 gear, do these castings match up to std Norton inards or not. Looks like all you need is a Fullauto head and you are in bussiness. But all the same Dave, a wonderfull tease!

Cheers Richard

If I recall correctly, yes.

Of all these parts I think the barrels are the most interesting.

New to the forum tonight and find this in the hopper! I have a couple of left case halves that must have come from these patterns. They were of KD origin. I can't remember if they came to me directly from Kenny or by the way of Ken Canaga. Rj

Excellent. Can't wait to see the pictures.

The case is as thick as it could be reasonably manufactured. The area below the flange for the cylinder has no recess. This is the area that often gets reinforced with weld on cases that are used in racing applications. I understand that the same patterns were used for the cases that had a larger OD main bearing assembly.
