I recently bought a clutch cable from Venhill for my 73 Co., it is the exact same lenght as my old cable (don't know what brand it is) 51 in. On the end that goes into the gearbox there is a 1 1/2" threaded area with a nut from which the wire protrudes. Is this threaded part supposed to go inside the gearbox? If so I would have to drill out the gearbox hole to get it in the hole, which I really don't want to do. Yes, I emailed Venhill several days ago, but no response.

Thanks for any advice,

Jeff

Me thinks that you have received a clutch cable for a BSA A - 10. The Venhill cables intended for the Commando have the slip in fitting at gearbox end.

Or Atlas/P11/G15/N15. They had the cable adjustment at the outer gearbox adjuster.
