Could someone verify the correct spring setup for my 73 commando 750?

The head came to me in pieces and I'm doing a rebuild with only the parts manual schematic as a reference....

the 850 uses washer/"cup"/spring/collar/collets, the extra being the "cup". Do I for sure not need this for the 750?

Is the heat insulating washer needed for the standard 750 head and Combat head or just Combat? does it matter?

Thanks,
Ernest

Ernest,
I have a parts book for 850's and 750's w/engine numbers 212278 and up. I guess that means post combats.
It shows that they share the same heat insulating washers, cups and the rest. The only difference between them are the valveguides and the clips that go with them for the 850. All of them have always used cups, there is no way the springs could ride on the head. The Combat was unique in that the heat insulating washers were omitted on the intakes only, according to an earlier 750 parts list. Might want to replace the intake seals and springs.
