Glad you solved it. So pain free too...

An important point about the Power Arc is that you CAN NOT use a timeing light, it fires 3 times on each strock, so no way to know which light to check.

Thats an interesting statement. !

Presumeably the 1st spark HAS to be the required one, or combustion havoc would reign... ?
Multispark ignitions are all the rage, but the subsequent ones are just follow ups to the primary one (??).

And how would you accurately set it otherwise....

Static is the only viable option for this unit. The only way I was able to stobe these is when I had them remove the multi spark option.
Multispark maybe all the rage but not the best systems for Norton. They are good for highend race motor where you fine tune motors by adjusting octane levels and such.

IIRC it can be set to single spark and comnoz likes that better as stronger spark I think. Also at some highish rpm it has to revert back to single spark do lack of capasitor dwell charge time I think, so maybe could up to redline to see if full advance it stable and correct. I pow wow time to time with the brainiac Powerarc guy I forget name of again but will soon again to ask him about this timing light quirk. Btw set limiter to 7500 as may time to time rip close to that getting a rush up to pass or just for kix, the engine can take it now and then and you know you are mature in control enough not to mis use your beloved pet. PS if you are timid to red unloaded into redline to test then why are you interested in over 6500 like I am? It hurt my ears and guts and sanity but dam it better find out at home than mid corner flings exiting run ups to shift points. Might even like gearing up some if craving top end power band trills longer harder faster with less extreme redline, make that torque work hard for its meals. Very happy ending cool.

I am thinking that Andover thought that the engine could take it now and then and then there was the big bang, clank slam stop.

But for those that want to take that chance there are several options. the Power Arc can hold two maps, the regular high performance map which is the one I am using and a 2nd map set to what ever limit the user wants. you can just use the high rpm map or set it up with a switch so that you can go to the high rpm map when you want. Just switch back and forth at will.

I have heard a lot of opinions about the triple spark but have seen nothing in the way of actual data that shows a problem or reason to believe it less desirable

I also do not see the problem with not being able to use a strobe but then I am still learning.

I know that there have been very few returns on this unit and very few reported problems. Mostly just satisfied users not posting.

Mine was an easy installation starts very easy and does what is is supposed to do. With the options and knowledge that they are their I would make the same choice again.
