G'day,
Would anyone out there happen to know a rough value of a 750ss commando. (fully restored using genuine parts with engine & frame number matching factory records of a 750 ss)?

Cheers
Piers

Could be anywhere from $7,500 - $10K, probably nearer the high end if as described.

Fully fettered nice looking ready to ride, implies at least 10 grand invested so knock at least a 1/3 rd off what ever a proud builder put in it and now forced to sell w/o taking into consideration inflation which implies a brand new 750 in 70's money would cost about 8 grand now. Yes that means ya ain't making as much money now a days either even though the numbers are bigger the money unit is even weaker.

billionaires are now what we used to call millionaires

Where are you located? It will make a difference in the valuation. Steel tank? Fiberglass? How big of a hurry are you to sell it? I always recommend people go to eBay and look at completed auctions to see what actually sold and for how much.

Whatever someone puts in yer' hand...with both partys happy... Enjoy the whole experience ,just sold my 70 S model ,$4800. First person to look at it and offer, Phone rang all afternoon...

Going by the G'day introduction I would say a fellow Australian,

I've wondered my self as the local 750ss adds seem to always state rare in the mix I guess to validate higher then other 750's.

I suspect you are correct. I also asked about the tank. I have to wonder. On a "collectible" model does having the original fiberglass tank add to the value, or do the problems with fiberglass tanks detract? We don't inspect our vehicles for fitness where I live, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are places that will not pass a motorcycle with a glass tank.

having bought a fastback with a fibreglass tank, i would discount the value of any bike fitted with a fibreglass tank, by the cost of a metal replacement. its not so much about the safety inspection, its about the tank dissolving in your garage and dumping fuel all over the place!

Another floor on the price is the cost of the competition. Second hand, how much do they go for, especially if they have similar "head turning" appeal.

If you are indeed in Australia, then asking plices would be around $15,000 with that description - for about any Commando, really.
Whether it sells at prices like that who knows - many prefer to then import something from less expensive markets.
