I'm new to norton bikes and got a pretty one that isnt running. Upon investigation the main fuse is continuing to blow...previous battery was toast and the new one hasn't gotten me much riding :)

Further work and I see a tympanion rectifier was installed a some point. Looking at wiring diagrams I believe this is in line with the battery and would cause the issue. I also understand this upgrade replaces the zenon diode. So that can't be an issue.

Is the tympanion rectifier shot? How does one test? If not obviously damaged is there another system I should check?

Thanks for your help!

The rectumfier just converts alternator AC to DC which then goes by wire to negative battery to charge batt.
A Regulator then is needed to prevent overcharging and takes the place of old Zenor diode stuff, so we assume your Tympanium has all that built in as solid state and almost never goes bad so likely problem is wiring.
Check all wires in the sequence and especially at battery terminal and also check that Tym is strongly grounded to frame somewhere.

Volt meter, does it increase to over 13 when rpm blipped at idle over 2500?

Positive ground? The battery isn't hooked up backwards is it. It happens often when someone isn't familiar with Brit bikes that they hook the battery up negative ground and start fusing things that shouldn't be.
