TVS can Solihull can't??

The above link is bit of an eye-opener!

In 6th gear under prolonged full load (it’s a touring machine) this BMW back wheel may lock up:oops:! I’ll take ‘tank is difficult to remove for maintenance’!

Let’s see how long it takes Norton to provide a fix.

Let’s not forget the life threatening issues the 961 had as well. Hint: clutch

A very good point V2D3, well made - we should be delighted that Norton Birmingham is not the same proposition as Norton Donington! That was the point you’re trying to make right? ;)

We all just have to be careful that when a newbie comes onboard we don't 'infect' him with a legacy owner's bias.;)
🤣 That‘s a cracker BT!! I reckon this forum could send the most optimistic of Professional Grief Councillors to a shrink!! I’ve invited Paul over from FB to also join Access Norton, with his spanking new Birmingham Norton. We’ll see what he says.

He seems generally happy and satisfied, maybe he could join ‘Team Optimistic’!🤩

Meaning you need to see a shrink? 😂

Just a little dig at you guys in ‘Team Pessimistic’! Knowing your identity is important though, so that’s a positive outcome - be careful, you can't just switch teams whenever you feel like it!!! ;)

Being optimistic gets you know where.

Want proof?

Just ask a 961 owner.

Do you think anything in life would be improved if everyone just settled and accepted everything as is? Absolutely not.

Without people being negatrons, Norton 961 owners would still be pushing their bikes home.

There is reasonable optimism.

Then there is this:

TVS can Solihull can't??

A pessimist sees a dark tunnel.
An optimist sees light at the end of the tunnel.
A realist sees a freight train.
A train driver sees three idiots standing on the tracks.

I’m the train driver.

Don't forget the guy in the caboose, he see three blood stains on the tracks.

You are the train driver V2D3 - and I have no doubt that your train is sub-standard, as is the failed manufacturer; they’ve no idea how to make a train and it’s only a matter of time before the wheels fall off, probably in that tunnel 🤣!

I acknowledge your point that only negative people get things achieved - I am (very, very) happy to disagree:D! I’ll stick with open-minded, balanced and with a positive outlook thanks.

How many inventors would have been who they are if it wasn’t for people telling them they couldn’t do something?

You own a 961 Norton, not a Honda.
That’s not a good claim to make about the wheels falling off, especially with all the information shared on this very forum.

Could you imagine this very forum if everyone were like you? I mean let’s be real, forums exist because people complain and have problems.

That’s being realistic.

Voodoo, you can characterise my commentary however you like my friend. I try pretty hard to make it as open, well thought out and balanced as I can. I’ve criticised Norton (in a balanced way) many times for poor communication, delays and lack of openness, amongst other things - you can choose to ignore that if you like, if that fits with your characterisation.

I choose to maintain an optimistic outlook about Norton Birmingham because I believe it is warranted and see no value in seeking to fill every gap in information about intent and progress with negative commentary. Instead, I choose to attempt to explain why any delay may have occured and remain open minded about direction, in the absence of information.

A forum like this needs opposing views sure, but in my opinion, the vast majority of these topics could be presented in a constructive way - I think we often fail to do that. IMO, this puts people off commenting and maybe from joining the forum.

Haven't said it for a while but can I just mention there is no other bike which looks as good as my 961CR and despite the gremlins I JUST LOVE RIDING IT!

The rather blandly named Pictures thread is a good illustration of owners enjoying and using their bikes: maybe we need a new more positively named thread which shows that owners are getting out there and clocking up miles on these great bikes. Yes we have issues with them but despite those we fix them and keep going with them shows just how much we love them.
