Steve I looked at fitting the Scott damper on Bike # 2 as Slavens KTM in Colorado had them on a real special a few months back, mates bought them for their bikes and swear by them.
I looked at mounting it upside on the bottom triple clamp, it fits in there, you might want to look at that if you don't want a 'beauty wart ' on top!!!
Have written to Scotts and Ohlins about it, they work fine upside down, just means you can't adjust on the fly, although most guys I know who use them, say changes aren't necessary if similar riding conditions prevail, only extreme changes in conditions need some adjustmenst added or subtracted from time to time.
What about welding a peg to the top tube instead of the big ali clamp?
