Yes Scott radial type damper that's adjustable in the radial range angle it dampens or mostly releases, as there is not really a zero setting even turned 'all' the way off I can feel its annoying drag. Its mainly a beauty wart to me but will have some use for events that rules require a damper fitted and for raw wild no path at all runs, hill climbs and stoppie attempts and wheelie drop downs. I have yet to figure out how to mount its frame peg so I can insert if for the special conditions while mostly running unconnected and still be able to access the oil frame filler under it, w/o removing IS gas tank. It is a serious-dangerous impediment to me that prevents riding-recovering Peel in her kind of fast on pavement or THE Gravel. I used it over 10,ooo miles on my unstable balloon race tire upgraded suspension SuVee to learn all its 'tricks">> so did 20,000+ more delightfully w/o it. I don't consider THE Gravel off road as its just like good smooth pavement with a couple inches of grit, pebbles, stones and arrow heads layer on top is all. The extra fork range is for slow trials and parking lot and pasture stunts. Yet to figure out how to cushion the fork stops to take decent crashes and only hurt me. I've had 3 m/c since '99 and been though over half dozen fork stop tab removals so now only Trixie retains a rewelded on one.

Dr. Frankenstein was my model to aspire too until I saw Dr. Jeckyl and what he could do to himself and likes of a Mrs. Emma Peel on a carpeted floor >> whoowhoo! Peel is a rag rat right now but soon to be a curtain jerker till her teeth grow in and her breast buds blossom.

Steve I looked at fitting the Scott damper on Bike # 2 as Slavens KTM in Colorado had them on a real special a few months back, mates bought them for their bikes and swear by them.
I looked at mounting it upside on the bottom triple clamp, it fits in there, you might want to look at that if you don't want a 'beauty wart ' on top!!!
Have written to Scotts and Ohlins about it, they work fine upside down, just means you can't adjust on the fly, although most guys I know who use them, say changes aren't necessary if similar riding conditions prevail, only extreme changes in conditions need some adjustmenst added or subtracted from time to time.
What about welding a peg to the top tube instead of the big ali clamp?
