turkey trouble

That is a really sad news report , what kinda luck is that .... years ago while in Asheville for a week I was told by local folks there that it was hard to see wild turkeys , seriously after first couple days being out and about I lost track of how many I saw .... sure was nice Country , hitting a big bird like that on a bike is obviously a very bad thing , imagine it would do serious harm to any type of passenger vehicle .... it is deer around here ,rarely set myself up to ride after dark anymore .....

craig i don't ride after dark here either deer possums coons foxes coyotes stray dawgs and cats in daytime its buzzards and turkeys but at least you can see them a little ways up the road and slow down

Not that it matters much, but it was more likely a buzzard.

They get pretty adept at picking at road kill and avoiding traffic. A motorcycle might be small enough to throw off their sense of close proximity.

I had one get uncomfortably close to me as it struggled to get airborne ..... and I was in a F150.

Slick

turkey did same to me last year it was walking in ditch beside road when I got close it flew from ditch and I had to lay on tank buzzards are worse because they swarm on roadkill and take off all at once together if I see either species I slow way down because I know they will do something stupid

On Phillip Island race circuit, just beyond Turn One towards Southern Loop there is an area which is bad for seagulls. Guys have hit them when on full noise after running the full length of the front straight.
