Trispark problems?

The problem started as an intermitant fault when hot, she would restart after cooling off. It got progressivley worse untill she wouldnt even start whilst cold. At this stage and after a lot of re-rigging and parts changing, coils etc, and pulling out of hair, I went back to the boyer unit and have since completed over 3k miles without a hickup. The trispark unit in the end had the led light flashing all the time. Will keep the new unit as a spare me thinks...

Had mine installed for over a year now. No problems. Starts easy, idles, runs strong. I plan to use Trispark on my 850 when it's ready.

Newbie here to the Board. Question re: Trispark...how difficult is it to install, if you have limited technical skills? Does anyone have any suggested steps above and beyond the instructional manual? I am replacing an older Boyer that seems to have failed?

Thanks

Kevin

Welcome to the forum, Kevin

It's the easiest system to fit of all. As the module fits inside the points housing-so there's no "black box" to wire up.

If you consider yourself capable of making decent electrical connections then fitting a Tri-Spark shouldn't prove difficult at all, and if you need help you know where to ask.

Very easy. I'm an idiot and I did it no problem. Just make sure you don't have the magnet 180 deg out when you go to time it.

Not like I did that or anything.

Yes - I think that I can make decent electricsl connections...so, maybe I will dive in. I attmepting to get it into shape to get from NE Massachusetts down to the Brit Jam in CT. on Sunday. Otherwise, I will have to appear on my BMW K-75 - not exactly the entrance that I wanted to make. Thanks for the encouragement...

boyers, pazon and the old trisparks are pretty easy to install, but I imagine this new trispark unit is exceptionally simple and I too, like coco, am pretty handicapped when it comes to electrical. I am planning on getting one new trispark for one of my bikes. If it works out ok I may start replacing the other units in my other bikes.
