Hello all, new member, first post.

I'm about to fit a Tri Spark ignition on my 1974 Mk2 850 and just wanted to check something. Is the switched live feed wire (which connects to the coils after the installation has been completed) the one that originally connected to the ballast resistor marked white/blue on the wiring diagram? If so, do you bypass the ballast resistor when connecting?
Thanks for any help.

You don't use the ballast resistor. Both 6 v coils fire together with the way it is wired (one is a wasted spark), so it takes a full 12 volts.

It is correct that you remove the ballast resistor (and condensor pack). If six volt coils are retained then you put them in series so that the EI reads twelve volts and the correct resistance. I removed the white-purple and used it as the jumper between the two coils.
