I was perusing the Tri Spark web site recently and noticed their Firebox Pro system for British twins.

Does away with the timing cover mounted control box, which has been a contentious issue on here.

Has anyone used one? Does anyone know if it has any real performance advantages over the Classic Tri Spark?

Yes, that’s it.

I can see the following advantages:

Some would argue it is an advantage to having the control box outside of the timing cover.

The programable aspect is an advantage to those who wish to program.

There may be a Spark performance advantage to having 2 dedicated Spark 12 volt coils.

Has anyone used one?

Anyone care to expand on and / or contradict any of the benefits?

Have you looked at elektronik sachse systems, I have one on my t160 they are similar to Tri spark, they have 3 phases of advance, low power draw, rev limiter, switch off after 2 seconds etc, but I've not heard of them going wrong, when I asked on triples online ,the response was the system is better than tri spark but who knows

Hi, I had noticed you can adjust rotor height which is a good point, as I remember having trouble with a non standart cam and Altair due to clearances discrepancy!

Yes it seems to me very important because it still not had pain in it of problems with the one who amounts instead of the ignition of origin, too hot there.

I’ve got two, of the new generation, running in the timing covers without any problems so far.

Yes they have to change one or several components in the case.
How many kilometers did you make since?
You run on track or road ?

Not many miles done sadly, about 2500 I guess on the Commando. Used on the road and track days. Based in U.K. so no long rides across 40 degree deserts...
