Transmission oil leak

Hi, I have a 2015 SF with 8000km. The bike has had all the factory upgrades plus those recommended by Richard-7. I ride the bike every day and it was serviced 2 months ago. The engine and transmission oil is Motul Fully synthetic 10W40. This past weekend after a ride I noticed that the transmission started leaking oil from the top near the transmission vent (see attached image).

Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows why would this is be happening?

Regards,

Sergio

Doesn't appear to be leaking from your tranny.
The leak in your photo appears to be coming from the rubber grommet that the alternator/ignition trigger line exits the primary from.
It's possible that grommet is not properly seated in the primary cover, or the grommet itself may be defective.

With 8000 Km on the machine it would not appear to be an original defect or seating issue with the rubber seal. I would clean it off with a solvent and try a little none hardening sealant.

Check the transmission oil level , see if the oil comes running out of the fill to spill hole (too full) . also is the engine oil on the stick going lower ? (losing oil to the primary) The rubber seal may have torn ? replace it. While you are in there check the other seals (crankshaft and balance shaft). Make sure your transmission vent is not blocked.

Firstly thank you for the replies. I agree, the issue is not an original defect and it be fair the bike has been running faultless for over a year now. I think the rubber seal may need to be replaced but I will check the transmission oil level to make sure is not over filled. I am not sure if it is coincidence or not but before this issue happened I added a few mls to top up the engine oil to compensate for the oil I lost inside the air box.

Once again thank you for the feedback.

Sergio
