TR5t kick start

Hi all, I was out riding my TR5t on Wednesday, went to kick start it to come home, loud crack/hitting noise. kick start returns to position fine but there is no pressure when pushing down, something must have snapped. any suggestions please, I will strip it at some point but very busy on a Tribsa build.

The end of the mainshaft could have broken. I had this happen on a 250 single (T25/B25 type). It's far from unheard of on these but from what little I know about the 500 twins, they don't have a reputation for this kind of failure, but it seems a possibility? Off with the cover and see what you find....
