Tires again

What tire are you using on the front, 100/90 19 of the same model? No issues with a "rear" tire in the "front"? And which direction did you mount the rear?

I am running a Shinko 100/90 -19 57H on my front.
Most tires, but especially tires suitable for front or rear should have direction of rotation markings on them.

I now have a response back from Goodyear, they are looking to provide a corporate response covering both the European and US Market as it seems customers and distributors on each side of the Atlantic are getting told different things.

It seems a piss poor way to run a company. If you close a factory on Friday afternoon, another factory should be in full production by Monday morning.
The UK factory also made Mickey Thompson drag racing tyres, it was impossible to ship from the UK factory to a UK or Europe address, tyres were shipped from UK to USA then back to UK / Europe, probably doubling the cost to the consumer

You’re right there!
Handled by suits who look at the world through spread sheets with no consideration into operational challenges or reality.
I see it all the time …

I've been using Shinko 10 SR 712 F 110/90 19 62H for the rear.
Very close to the Bridgstone Spitfire I was using before. Works well, reasonably priced and its available.
Tires again
Where did you find them in 19" I see plenty of 18" but have not found 110/90-19 (62H)

Actually lucky that they didn't just discontinue them. Narrow 19" rear or universal tires surely are in small demand from a suits' perspective!

The whole issue is so small to Goodyear that there's no mention in their newsroom of any of it and the Avon's site doesn't have news.

That’s kinda my point Greg. I believe they’d have been better off leaving the UK plant to keep doing what it was doing, maybe even sell it off as a separate business. There’s no question that with the right input, the UK plant could have become significantly more productive.

Instead, they decided it wasn’t efficient, so ceased production there, yet had nowhere else to produce, ergo they have simply given up on (what collectively was) quite a worthwhile market.

At last an update from the horses mouth. Production will commence 26th April in Turkey and it will include the universal tyre 100/90-19. As things stand it looks like this tyre will be able to shipped into the US without issues as Turkey is outside the EU.

As is the U.K.

What a grand master plan eh?

Lose years of market and untold customers to other brands.

Decisions made by clueless suits. Probably straight out of uni. Bet they don’t even know where a tire goes…

Rant over.

Where’s me tablets…?
