Unfortunately I will have to replace my timing cover which no big deal, But I have a question.
Purchasing the covers from AN or RGM they are deafferent from my 72 Cover.
Obvious differences are a access port the gauge the timing chain, but on the left of the cover is a raised dome section
1. What is this dome
2. Is the cover drilled for OPRV oil to be dropped back into the timing chest or ported back into the oil pump

Thank you

That is the Mk3 cover with the timing chain inspection plug and "dome" for the anti-drain valve.
