Does anyone know where a fellow could purchase a throttle lock for a MK3. I had a 76 MK3 back in the mid seventies which I have kicked my ass for selling ( laid-off 80,s big recession ) I shipped the head and cylinders to George Gjonovich of HPI ( horse power international ) in California to install his 940 kit. George was TOP DOG for Norton performance.
His kit was a true 940 cc, with Arias pistons, over size valves, his own hot street cams, heavy SW valve springs, head flowed, ports reshaped to 32 mm and 34 mm carbs, pulling 80 plus HP. One could go all the way and get 101 HP. Dam thing would run as fast uphill as it would down. Ran that bike for many a year and never had any problems. Sent many a rice-burner and Harley rider home with their tail between their legs and NORTON exhaust on their face !!! Anyway that MK3 roadster had a throttle lock which was very nice for cold idle. It was a spring loaded lever that I think was part of the twist assembly and held the throttle for idle or highway ridding. Has anybody had any experience with this set-up and if so does one exist to purchase???? Thanks Hershey

On my standard throttle there is a screw that increases drag on the return action caused by the carb spring.
I just tighten it down enough so it doesn't snap shut when taking hand off.
I have tendonitis in my elbow which causes numbness after a while so I can take hand off throttle and hang down arm for a bit every 10-15 minutes so allows me to cruise along without hand on throttle.

I have this on my Yamaha. I think it's the vista, I have seen them on eBay occasionally. And as a plus it takes road rash very well.

and another option, I have not tried, but it looks simple.

That looks like the same type lock that was on my first MK3. Thanks for the info!!!

Figured out a rather simple lock on my Tomaselli throttle using the existing screw-based mechanism. Just a nylon cable saddle and a lever made out of Aluminium. Works perfectly.

Normal:
throttle lock

Locked:
throttle lock

Locked position provides just enough drag to hold the throttle position, can easily be twisted to shut without releasing the lock.

And I use a Co-Tanga (pat pending) throttle lock on the mighty TRX:

Might upgrade to something a little more sophisticated here...
