The old throttle cable is looking pretty rough. I'm looking for a new Venhill or Barnett one for a mikuni flat slide with US bars. Any ideas what length I need or where I can pick one up? Old Britts and Rocky Point Cycle couldn't help out.

Thanks,

Gary Prust

Gary, I called Venhills directly and had them make up some really heavy duty and quite special cables for the Vincent front brake as well as throttle cables with custom steel bends fitted at the carb caps. The cables all fit perfectly and work a treat.
For stock Commando cables they have everything listed on the website, however yours might be a bit of a custom and cost a little more than stock. Their cables are worth every penny, the teflon lining is he way to go. Clutch and throttle cables get the stainless inner while brake cables are still done in galvanized steel for strength.
I made up simple drawings of the cables and emailed them thru.

I called Venhill in the UK however there is also a Venhill US. I have a feeling that you want the UK people for custom stuff.

I've found wide variation in length, that is, NOT so much the outer sleeve length, like for euro or US spec bars, but rather the inner length RELATIVE to outside. I fitted a Barnett throttle cable, required removing the sleeve at the throttle housing. Measure carefully.
