Hi Norton Heads

74MKIIA

Just got carbs back together and mounted......cables from throttle and air intake connected to the cables from the carb, and for the life of me coundn't get them adjusted right.

So .....#*%$# take them apart again, and I notice THIS TIME......they are slightly different lengths.

When I originally put them together, I "assumed" they were all identical......ass being the key syllable there.

Could someone please tell me which the shorter ones go to? The throttle or the air?

Thanks much!
Chester

[Edit]Please read my following post.

Ya LAB

The pair of short cables coming out of the top of the carb.
The cable sleeves are like 1/4 " shorter and the inner cables are like 1/2" shorter.
So it's the shorter pair that go to the throttle?

Sorry..........just got that backward!
So it's the longer cables that go to the throttle?

The short cables go to the throttle and the long ones go,,,,,,,,well you know where

I think I may have given you some incorrect information and have edited my previous post, so yes, the cables with the short outers are the throttle cables. I compared a set of genuine AN choke and throttle cables-and the choke inners are slightly longer (which seems contrary to what some members have said before who've fitted choke cables in place of throttle cables and found the inners were not long enough for the throttle slides to reach the throttle stops?).
