Hey all,

I've convinced myself to buy rearsets (not a difficult task mind you) and these beasties seem to be the go:
These Rearsets?

$300 US from Clubman Racing though I'd rather source them from Aussie to get them quicker.
I really want something that is 100% reversible so any comments or suggestions of alternatives I should consider?

These are almost identicle to the Mick Hemmings unit. I have a set on my 72. Great parts. As far as reversable? NO!
MKIII requires a differant setup.

I think by "reversible" he means they can be taken off and bike reverted to stock. So no mods to the stock parts required.

I was able to fit similar John Tinkle rear sets on Ms Peel w/o altering anything permanent. The pegs posts can replace a lower Z plate bolt and with some fiddling likely can orient the LH plate for a straight cable run to the rear brake. Some rear sets of course are meant to mount on their own or custom Z-plates. Rear sets sure made my long riding legs more comfy and more handy off road to stand on.
NIce detailed finished set shown. If anyone has left over decent chromed foot peg stalks I'd be interested for Trixie, hers a bit rusted even before my time.

If this is what you mean, davamb, then I suppost they can be reversable. The Z plates do get drilled out on the lower hole so you will have to either have to get replacements "Z's"( always available on ebay ) or simply bolt the original lower bolt hole on the footpeg mount through with a nice locking nut. No big deal.
The great thing about these rearsets is that you use the original brake cable and switch.

I'm not enthralled by the way they finished the end of the footpegs. Looks like a cheap washer and crappy bolt. Should at least be a buttonhead bolt.

Yes, and I would replace the clevis pins on the gear linkage with rose joints. But I guess these are small things that you can change at your leisure as you see fit. Rear sets transformed my Commando's ride quality. They are well worth fitting (in my opinion).

I've got the exact rearsets and think they're great...really transformed my riding comfort and will hopefully allow me to ride cafe style for a few extra years. I've only had two issues: First was adjusting the shifter to clear the kickstart on upshifts...not hard to do. Second is get some extra clevis pin fasteners and carry them in your tools....lost one 100 miles from home but was able to "make do" for the rest of the day with a zip tie.

Sorry for the confusion Pviseriii, yeah as Swoosh mentions, I mean so that the original pegs can be refitted at any time. Can live with drilling out one Z-plate hole.

I think they'll do the same for me Cmessenk, clip-ons with the original pegs is just seriously uncomfortable after a while. I've tried resting my feet on the rear pegs out on the highway and that's fine. I spent some time sitting on the bike and putting some axle rests where the rearsets would then be and it does the trick.

So it's thumbs up then. Thanks.

I think it was mentioned before but with clip on handlebars rear sets are mandatory. Heck, even with a long tank like the Interstate they are nice.

I have the same setup from RGM. I recently emailed them to find out what the peg rubbers were from as mine will need replacing soon. They responded that their supplier of that setup was no longer in business and that they did not know what the peg rubbers were from originally. Has anyone here had to replace yours, and if so, what did you use? Thanks.
