My consious is fine.........Did durn near the same thing, but didn't even come close to what he (alleges) he spent. Can't see how he put over $45,000 into a Norton!!! Hell, How in the world can you spend that much?

The membership consists of 3253 members. At $10.00 a piece we could could make an offer of $32,530. Since i thought of it, I get it for the first year. :)

So far 1695 viewers are watching it. Including me. It's a female, owner mentioned "Her" a few times. Thought John Player Norton would be a guy. :?

If this person paid over $45,000 for the bike and restoration, I have a few things for sale I'd like to offer to him/her.

He did all that and the horn doesn't work
Another complete strip down coming up.

don't know how he would get that high?
I've got around $20k in mine, and could easily go another 10 on the engine w/ rebuild and upgrades. Everything else has been upgraded/replaced.
cnw bike $30k + a bike

$45k no way

Makes me think there is some type of disease associated with it.

Probably is....the kind of disease that is treated with a straightjacket and shock therapy. :D . Jim

$45,000.00! SPENT ON WHAT?!
I thought I was all kinds of screwed-up having too much $ in mine but this Idjit makes me feel better.

He probably got that high because he outsourced all the wrench turning. Labor cost would be the only thing that would prop the costs up that much.
Being a "check book" mechanic can make an otherwise cost effctive ride (2 or 4 wheels) into a place where R.O.I is nigh immpossible.

Happens all the time in the auctions like Barett-Jackson and Mecum... pay for the restoration and get a free car. Good for the buyer, but a loss for the seller. At least the seller can see some percentage of his (I hate this term cuz it's not really) "investment", and get into his "next" project...(read that as money pit).

We all do this to an extent as a "Labor of Love" rather than a serious effort to make money on the project, and the projects DO pay us back in the satisfaction of creating, owning and enjoying our efforts.

The seller of the $32K Norton has actually done us a favor... He keeps people like Matt @ CNW and the like in business where we all can benefit. Heck, if there were no CNW ( or other like businesses) the Norton world would be much smaller and not be there to serve us the way we currently enjoy.

It would be nice to know if the 250mi on the odometer is accurate, and what he paid for the bike originally. If he bought and restored the bike without regard to cost then I can see where all that money might have gone. It'll be interesting to see how the auction ends up. 25k?
