The Shadow of The Moon

I saw the total eclipse near the coast in Northern France in 1999 in perfect conditions( in Uk it was mostly cloudy). never forget it.
Me n my then girlfriend went to Cornwall to see that on my TSS.

The long suffering TSS finally protested the years of 9,000 rpm and the cases split in half !

Had to get recovered home, then go to Cornwall in the car.

All that for the big event to be totally clouded out !

That girlfriend still married me though !?!

So what your saying is all the folks that claim an eclipse is a harbinger of bad things must be true.

I'm glad I reread the post. I thought you were talking about the most recent eclipse. I'm thinking "Why for God's sake would you have taken that old thing when you could have taken the HD Dyna"? Real bad impression on a first date if it was in your stable.

Yeah it was ‘99. Toko, who’s Japanese and worked at Honda, was really quite unimpressed by the whole ‘British Classic’ thing!!

I knew there was a noise, so made the excuse to pull in for coffee, I looked down as the bike was ticking over and could actually see the cracked crank cases opening and closing with the rise and fall of the pistons. Definitely beyond a roadside bodge ! Good job we weren’t caning it or it would have completely disintegrated.

Here she is, on the TSS, awaiting recovery and decidedly unimpressed…

That is Britbike Gold!

The cases pulsating! 🤣

Like the '76 Shovelhead, my Uncle looked down, the rear cylinder, head & rocker box was jumping up & down, smashing off the frame. 🤣🧨

You won the trophy girl anyway Mr. Smoothington! 🏁😎
