Oil pump and timing cover and... errr... welll...
Old thread, but from an earlier exchange I remember Jim explained the oil pump is a special of higher capacity which he fitted to his old 880 motor.

Jim:

Do you recall the gear size used in the pump? We have had an excurse into the stock pumps lately, so this is of interest.

The pressure side is 1.5mm wider than stock. The scavenge side is 3mm wider.
The gear teeth are the same as stock.
This was done because I have oil flow to the cam and I needed a little more volume. Jim

Jim , I recall that you swapped in an NOS Norton cam awhile ago. I'm interested to know how that has worked out for overall performance and , most importantly, wear.
Maybe not so many miles travelled yet with the pandemic .

The pandemic and some health issues have definitely put a limit on riding [and work].

But I did get about 5000 miles on the bike with the NOS cam and I am very pleased with the performance. I am not likely to go back to a bigger cam, the stock cam provides very good performance when used with a large valve head and still keeps the rpm range near original.
