The new Brough is here!!

Hopefully the first one bought by someone here (!) will give us a road test report.
And say if it was worth it.

Can't help thinking that copies of an earlier one would sell better.
But maybe someone has exhausted that field already ??

A few folks have also expressed the view that modern day HDs are not that far removed from the original concept of the BS.
Custom built and optioned ones in particular, where they are purpose measured and built for a particular owner. (within limits).

A leaf out of Georges operating and marketing principles, in fact ??
These guys have missed the boat, somewhat....

The new Brough is here!!

$ 100 . 000 :shock:

Those Heads lack a little symetry :p : AND they appear to be a bit of a pack off snobs , at THAT Price .

However , for the less financially derived ,
The new Brough is here!!

AND its ELECTRIC !

And no pedals, for when the batteries go flat....
If rolling resistance is proportional to the width of the tyre, they have overdone it there ??

Looks hi-tech, doesn't it.
Just sitting still.
Does this fund their F1 effort ?

And, if the SS100 of old was referring to the magic 100 mph mark,
then couldn't they have upped it a shade, for modern usage.

An SS250 or SS300, in Euro parlance, perhaps ??
If that stretched to 320 km/hr, thats an SS200

Maybe the engine design is too new to get there, yet.
Next model.....

I read somewhere (Motorcycle Sport??) that T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) was a big Brough Superior fan, one of his bikes was picked up from the factory on the Friday, he returned the following Monday with 1,500 miles on the bike which had a bald rear tyre.

Brough Superior....BS....hmm that gets the imagination racing.

This "new" Brough could be interesting. It appears to be French, but on the other hand it does have sensible front suspension, Fior.

Its a lot of dosh though, $100,000. Probably their entire production will be bought by collectors, wrapped in cotton wool and kept in a cool dry place, never to be seen again let alone ridden.

cheers

It does have pedals, they're just hard to see in this shot. I think they would need more than this to fund even a slot car effort!!
But it does have sensible front suspension, i.e. not telescopic forks.

Caterham have also shown a concept 750cc single cylinder(!!!!!) monstrosity, supposed to be a sort of two wheeled SUV. To my jaundiced eye it just looks 'orrible, no doubt some will like it though.
cheers

Interesting to see two brands like Crocker and Brough are going through a resurgence - both companies associated to total exclusivity, perhaps a sign of the times... motorcycle enthusiasts above all other hobbies appreciate the beauty of fine engineering and the best quality.

But at what cost?!?

$100,000 - Golly !! - that's slightly more than a Molnar Manx however not as much as one of George Beale's replica Honda four racers. You could almost buy an Irving Vincent for that.

Thats a rather varied lot of replicas you are comparing there !
U could buy a used Cessna for less than that, and go faster... ?

Any of you guys think the new Brough looks better naked

The tank and seat just do not work with the stunning frame and forks
guys please either re design the tank and seat or leave it naked
$100k for a collector piece ( buy it naked as motorcycle art )
it may even lower the cost

you have to ask yourself if the designer was dating Kate moss
would he insist she wore an old sack at all times ?????????

I have to say I like the older version better. And I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do with $100k!
