The last Commando

Does anybody know when the last Commando rolled of the line, where it went or where it might be today?
Rode up thru Weirs Beach today , it's Bike Week and the Commando stands out in a sea of V Twins. Still looks good.

Probably some time in 1978 the last Mk III was screwed together out of leftover parts.

I was there at 1:00, met some friends and paraded out to Canaan for the hillclimbs. If only I had brought tire chain...

I was there at 1:00, met some friends and paraded out to Canaan for the hillclimbs. If only I had brought tire chain...

Was at the hillclimb last year, the only Norton in the lot except for one of the really stretched comp bikes. Missed this year.

Do you live near the Weirs 6868?

I'm right in the area in Farmignton, NH. This is one week I try to avoid riding.

As for the last Command: It's is said to be serial #336539. A Silver Interstate built in 1977, sold at auction in England in 2011. But that is all I have seen of it.
