Thanks, guys, I'll look again when I have the tank off, but I thought I looked pretty carefully last night.  The wires from the lambda sensors feed into the main wire harness at the front of the fuel tank, which appears to be wrapped in tape all the way back to the ECU.  So it looks to me like replacing the sensors would require some serious surgery on the wiring harness.  But I could have missed something, and will look again.
