That's one tough bike. Wish I were....

So, last Friday, on a nice North Shore Long Island easy tour, I went down. Some bone head got in front of me and stopped to make a left, no signal, couldn't see his brake lights. I learned what an "Endo" is. To avoid rear ending the bonehead, I applied front and rear, went into a rear wheel skid (no problem) but that wasn't sufficient. Jammed on the front brake, back of the bike flipped up and I got bucked off, landed and my left foot breaking my tibia and the got pyle driven into the pavement where the sound of my scraping helmet seemed like an eternity. Thank you Davida for that life saving product. So here I lie for the next 2 months nursing my new titanium filled leg. Ok. Nuff about me.......the bike.........(the part you all wanted to hear about 8)

Bent handle bar, broken left front signal, rash on the primary cover (bet it could be media blasted and polished), 2 inch rash on the left SBN silencer at the cone, broken shift peg, broken foot peg, mashed bar end cap, a dime sized ding in the left side of tank, ( like a parking lot ding) and that's about it. Oh, and a little scrape on the clutch handle...didn't even snap. So really, if I could live with minor cosmetic flaws, the bike is fine. Less than a few hundred to get back together. I'm still going to price the tank and silencers but I may just pull my claim from the insurance co. so my rates don't climb.

Can't wait to get back on the road.

Oh. P.S. The bike was running sweet. AND I started her up yesterday. Not a hiccup.

So sorry to hear. Having been witness to a downed Norton as you know. I am feeling for you. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Tough luck early in the good riding season. I hope you heal quick and have knees in the breeze soon.

Hi Britfan , Sorry to hear . When you get a chance can you post some pics of the damage ? I might have people here that can help with some of the polishing.

Sorry to read the sad news, have u got no redress from the car driver that caused the accident ? What speed do u think u got it down to b4 u actually put the bike down ?

Terrible news Britfan! So sorry you be missing out on good riding weather on top of everything else. :|

Dang that sucks. Wishing you a speedy recovery and an inexpensive repair bill

Thanks for the well wishing fellows. The bike is ok. The biggest component that got damaged are the handlebars. I do need to allow a shop to put it on a machine and make sure everything is in alignment. Had to make sure I didn't warp my brembos

Hi Britfan
Sorry to hear that, I read your other post about the mirrors first so ignore it if you have your hands full, the breaks are awesome I will admit I did same thing picking the back wheel way up fortunately I stayed up but got a surprise when it happened first time I ever done it hope it's the last too, had a car jam on the breaks in front of me and grabbed hold of everything.
