Thanksgiving weekend in Canada

What am I thankful for on thanksgiving weekend? I'm thankful that my exhaust system decided to self destruct before I got too far away from home and that it happened at the end of the riding season and not the beginning.

I would remove it, TIG weld it, the chrome would only be ruined a short distance 1/4-3/8" from the weld, and them mask and paint the weld high heat silver. Only a keen eye would ever notice it, and it would not look offensive. JMWO

I`m Thankful I finally got around to start wiring up my 71...and the weather this weekend... and this forum of course...

Are those pipes as new as they look? If so, maybe a discussion with the vendor should be considered?

And, if they're new ish, may we ask where they're from?

You could TIG weld it with stainless steel and not have to re-chrome or paint it. I had my 2-1-2 done that way and it looks normal and has held up well except I haven't ridden it for months now due to fiberglass fuel tank issues, again with the carbs sticking and sticky sludge on the valves I'm guessing, again, yuck.

Nope. They've got 11000 miles on them. Could also be my fault. It's only 1000 miles after my top end rebuild and possibly I wasn't diligent enough about making sure they weren't under stress when I installed them. They never did fit as well as the rusty old pair of originals that I replaced them with. I may look into getting them re-chromed.

Happy Thanksgiving from Toronto , Canada , after 11 day Ocean Via Rail with 5 days end of line in partyland Halifax. Lovely day so outside in sun sipping wine with the wife , just pulled the tank to raise the needle clips to top notch , as plugs sooty black. went for a rip and pulled plugs to find brown tips but sooty cores. Will adjust the new stay up float tangs tomorrow to lower gas levels by bending float needle tangs slightly downwards ? Off to a friends for a dinner. Enjoy.

Glad you enjoyed some of our East Coast Hospitality ... today was a great day to ride here
