Thank You to Jim Schmidt!!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Jim Schmidt, owner of JS Motorsport
for the fantastic level of service and great products he always gets us for
our race motors. Here's a picture of Magneto Jim sent us last week getting
ready for use on this years race motor. Thank You Jim!

You will love that Joe Hunt, I have been running mine now for over 4 years and have had no problems with it at all, I have only had the cover off to put a few drops of oil on to lub the felt, once set up you will never have to touch it for a very long time, if the points needs cleaning never use a points file on them, the points have harden surfaces and once you file them they lose the hardness, I just clean mine with a bit of mefho and a bit of rage, do this and your points will last for many many years of ridding.

Another trick I use is after you have set your timing and every thing is running good, set you maggie on the timing marks then scrib a line on your mount housing, then remove the maggie from the bike, then you scrib your timing marks on the inside of your old points mounting area, after that you remount your maggie on them marks and the maggie will be set in position every time without retiming the maggie, this is good when you need to do any mainentance on the maggie you set the it on the timing marks pull the maggie off the bike and do the work on the bench, when finished just put it back on the bike on the marks you have scribed and the maggie is still set on the right timing.

My old Triumph had a Joe Hunt maggie on it for 9 years and over 250,000 ks and it never let me down once and I still had the same points in it after all those years and it was only a 2 rare earth magnets where these new Joe Hunts have the 4 rare earth magnets so they put out more bang and the best thing they will start first kick every time once started for the day.

I would never go back to any other ignition system and yes you will get poeple saying, o that sticks out a bit, wouldn't want to drop it on that side at all, well mine has been down twice now and the Joe Hunt is still going and if you need any parts Joe Hunt are good to deal with and only takes a few days to get them delivered.
