Today it was 84 degrees and I took the Norton out to run errands trying to take the quick way around Seattle. I have the JS rods and piston combo along with the BSA lifters and the JS1 cam. All performed VERY WELL even in the heat and some slow traffic I got caught in. The motor idled consistently and very smoothly at about 900 RPM where as a completely stock motor would be trouble in the heat. It never fails to start , often times in just 1/2 a kick. Very impressive. And it is the most free-revving motor I have ever worked with. It was a pleasure to ride even more than a stock motor. The cam is much more streetable than I would have thought, though I do prefer the stock cam with its gobs of low end. If I could afford it I would change my 2 other Nortons over to the rods and pistons. The only downside that I can find is the loss of the deep rumble from the pipes. The current sound is much different.

trouble?

Yeah, I'm using the same setup only with his 0 cam. Going to get a Fullauto head from Ken in a few weeks, after I have saved enough pennies. He's only got 1, 750 head left here in OZ so if I miss that one I'll have to wait for more stock in October. :D Great to hear your happy with the set up.
BTW Did you do the balancing mod on the pistons. As per Jims web site?
